Sebastian Vettel feels pressure would not affect him in front of home crowd as he prepares to compete in the German Grand Prix to be held this weekend.

Vettel has a huge 80 points lead over fellow team-mate of Red Bull Mark Webber for the standings this year. However, he was defeated at Silverstone last time when Fernando Alonso came first.

He is confident before the 10th round this year. He feels driving on his home soil might provide him an advantage.

Vettel remarked, “Many times people talk about pressure and things that can slow you down, but it is more positive than anything else.”

He added, “People everywhere support you and try to push you forward maybe to find this extra tenth or two. For me, it’s great to have this opportunity to race in front of my home country and we have six drivers now – I am looking forward to it.”

He also played down the controversy surrounding team orders in the previous grand prix, when Webber was told not to challenge the second place of German in dying stages.

He did not speculate whether similar orders would be used at this weekend.  He preferred to focus on the practice session of Friday instead of what could occur in race.

He also said, “It depends always on the situation in the race. Last race, there was nothing for us to gain as a team. Mark said he wanted to race, wanted to improve the position, but I didn’t want to let him by and tried to defend.”
